The University of Florida’s College of Health & Human Performance (HHP) is at the forefront of a university-wide effort fusing athletics, AI, biomechanics, and human performance research. Backed by Dean Michael Reid, President Ben Sasse, and growing campus-wide support, this effort leverages UF’s AI strengths to drive innovation in athlete workload monitoring, precision recovery, and data-driven coaching strategies. In collaboration with the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and Gator Athletics, it creates a real-world testbed for real-time feedback systems and sport science innovation. The initiative also strengthens educational pipelines through student-led research, graduate fellowships, and AI-integrated curricula, redefining how universities advance athletic success and the science of sport through AI-powered research.
