Wearable technology is transforming Gator Athletics, with UF researchers leading efforts to use AI-powered devices like GPS trackers and accelerometers to monitor athlete movement during practices and games. Faculty from the College of Health & Human Performance and the College of Engineering collaborate closely with coaching and sports science staff to develop real-time monitoring systems that inform workload management, injury prevention, and personalized recovery. This partnership also empowers student-athletes to better understand their performance data. By integrating academic research directly into daily athletic routines, UF is creating a seamless flow of insights from sideline sensors to strategic decisions, giving Gators a competitive edge through evidence-based innovation.
