AI-Powered Athletics

Part of the UF & Sport Collaborative

AI-Powered Athletics is a collaboration between the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the University Athletic Association as part of the UF & Sport Collaborative.

The project aims to leverage athlete and sport data to efficiently gain advanced insights and inform decisions that may help reduce time loss injuries, facilitate the health & well-being of our student-athletes, and optimize individual athlete & team performances.

Potential Impact:

  • Education: Provide novel data and case studies to undergraduate and graduate students in AI-related classes at UF, local and international data science competitions, and workshops in AI-related conferences
  • Athletics: Benefit team performance and student-athlete health and well-being.
  • Research: Develop new scientific approaches to monitoring health and well-being of individuals, tracking team performance in diverse settings, and advancing wearable sensor technologies.
